Your site: legal notice

The fields of your legal identity, the two templates depending on whether you are a professional or an individual, the generated page and its sections, the three footers, and what blocks publishing your site.

Every YStay booking site publishes a Legal notice page, generated automatically from your account information — you never write its content yourself. This page answers two requirements: identifying the publisher of an online communication service (article 6-III of French law n° 2004-575 of 21 June 2004), and, for a tourist accommodation in France, showing its registration number.

They are set with the rest of your owner profile, in Manage your account: legal form and share capital if you are a company, legal representative, and, if you name one beyond YStay's own, the name and address (URL) of a consumer mediator. An individual account carries one more field, Publish my identity on my site: unchecked by default, it decides whether your name appears on the page, or whether it only shows the host's identity (see below).

Professional or individual: two templates

The page takes one of two forms, depending on the capacity declared on your account:

  • Professional — the page publishes your company name, legal form and share capital, your SIREN, your address, your legal representative, and your consumer mediator. Without a mediator on file, a professional account cannot publish its site.
  • Individual — by default, only YStay's identity as the site's host appears; your own name is shown only if you have checked Publish my identity on my site. Either way, your contact (your site's contact email, or yours by default) stays visible: a guest must always be able to reach you.

What the page contains

Whichever template it shows, the page always gathers the same sections: your publisher identity, the site's hosting (YStay), the tourist accommodation (registration number of every listing published by this site), consumer mediation, a link to your rental terms, privacy, and cookies.

It is served at /{language}/mentions-legales on your site, and updates as soon as you fill in a missing field — without you having to republish your site.

The Legal notice link appears in your site's footer, whatever its theme: it now opens this very page, rather than YStay's own legal notice. The Privacy link points to the matching section of this same page.

What blocks publishing your site

Publishing your site requires a complete legal identity — this gate is not bypassed by Publish anyway (see Publish your booking site), which only overrides missing listing content. Depending on your case, you may be missing:

  • a name or company name;
  • a complete address (street, postal code, city, country);
  • for a professional: the SIREN, and a consumer mediator (name and address);
  • an individual needs nothing more than their address — contact, for its part, is always there.

YStay refuses publication while naming precisely what is missing.

If your site is already live

A site already published stays live even if your legal identity is incomplete: nothing is removed retroactively. A banner in the Studio reminds you of what is missing, until you fill it in.
