If one of your listings is reported or removed

What a content report is, what you receive if a decision is made (the statement of reasons), what you never receive, how to appeal, and where to find the "Report content" link on your site.

Anyone can report to YStay a piece of content you publish on the Platform that they consider unlawful or contrary to our terms — a listing, your booking site, a photo, a message, a review, or your guidebook. YStay reviews every report with diligence, as set out in our Terms and Conditions (art. 7.9) and the European Digital Services Act.

What a report is

The Report content link, present on your booking site and on every public listing page, lets anyone — a guest, a third party, a competitor — let us know that a piece of content you publish seems problematic to them. The report specifies the content targeted, its location, and the reason given.

A report is not a decision. A YStay team reviews it before acting: no content is removed by automated processing without human review, except for technically malicious content.

What you receive if a decision is made

If, after review, one of your pieces of content is removed or your Account suspended, you are informed by email with a statement of reasons, which always contains:

  • the facts found ;
  • the ground, legal or contractual, with its precise reference — for example the article of our Terms and Conditions concerned ;
  • your means of redress (see below) ;
  • a statement that the decision was made after review by a person.

If the decision follows a report, the email says so — without ever naming or identifying the reporter.

What you never receive

The name and email address of the person who filed a report never appear in any email, any screen of your dashboard, or by any other means — whatever the decision, including a dismissal that does not concern you at all.

How to appeal a decision

You can appeal any decision to remove content or suspend your account, within six months of its notification, at the email address given in the letter you received; if that letter does not give one, from the Report content page on the YStay website. If you are acting as a consumer, you can also refer the matter to the consumer mediator named in our Terms and Conditions.

There is no dedicated screen for appeals in your dashboard.

Finding the history of decisions

The statements of reasons you have been notified remain available on request: they are neither edited nor deleted, even if the measure they announce is later lifted (site republished, suspension lifted) — a new notification is then added to the history, it does not replace the previous one.

The link appears in the footer of your booking site, and on every public listing page — it cannot be removed or customized: it is a point of contact that regulation requires of any platform hosting content published by third parties.
